On Sunday, May 25, 2008 the take-off of the Kalitta Air K4-207 Flight Brussels – Bahrain went completely wrong. The takeoff was aborted late causing the plane sliding past the end of the runway and nearly missed a train to airport. Ultimately, no one was injured and the crashed plane was a unique setting to photograph the passing trains between Brussels and Leuven.
The crash occurred in the afternoon, but several hours later, once explosion danger had passed, the trains between Brussels and Leuven resumed. It was a spectacular sight, but the photographer was keen to passing trains.
